Most analysts would agree that Hillary Clinton’s campaign would be all but over if she doesn’t win both Ohio and Texas on Tuesday. Not only were some high ranking aides within her campaign admitting that she must do well on Tuesday if she wants to secure the nomination, but an article on ABC’s website points out how Bill Clinton has also publicly stated that the fate of Hillary’s campaign might be riding on Texas and Ohio.
Even Clinton’s most devoted surrogate — her husband, Bill Clinton — acknowledged the do-or-die stakes on Wednesday in Beaumont, Texas, conceding that a loss in Texas or Ohio would likely doom her candidacy.
If she wins Texas and Ohio I think she will be the nominee. If you don’t deliver for her, I don’t think she can be. It’s all on you,” the former president told the audience at the beginning of his speech.
As March 4th is approaching and many polls are showing that the her once double digit lead in these states has drastically withered, however, it appears as though the Clinton campaign has been taking a drastically different tone. As John Aravosis points out in a post over at AmericaBlog, some of Clinton’s aides are now attempting to say that Sen. Barack Obama has to win all four of the primaries taking place on Tuesday or else voters will think there is something going wrong with his campaign.
I believe most Americans following the race are able to see straight through this last minute attempt to issue a great deal of spin on the miserable state of Clinton’s campaign. I think the only question that remains now is: Will Clinton try to spin the situation in her direction if Tuesday doesn’t go the way she hopes, or will she face the realization that her campaign is over and suspend her campaign so that the Democratic Party can unite behind Obama?

The AmericaBlog post seems to suggest she’s staying on for the long haul. I think I agree with that assessment.
It’d be fine for her to stay in the campaign if she pulled a Huckabee and was making jokes about his campaign and just trying to promote the issues he thinks are important.
I’d guess she’s not going to be participating in a positive discussion since she’s gone so extremely negative lately.
[...] As usual, Barry O has closed the gaps and will probably win his elections on Tuesday in Texas and maybe even in Ohio and the crucial Rhode Island because he has magical god powers. [Rueters | More: NPR, TeresaCentric, Bryan Scrafford] [...]
Hillary is a fighter. She’s not going anywhere except to the convention and many of us are with her all the way.
The only ones spinning are the media.
