John Kerry Joins Fight To Save Environment

Al Gore’s success with “An Inconvenient Truth” has lead to an increase in discussion about global warming and efforts to save the environment. It now appears as though John Kerry is joining that discussion. An email signed by the Senator and his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, discussed how the Kerry family wrote a book, This Moment on Earth, about how we all have an impact on the environment.

The primary inspiration for the book, they write, comes from stories they heard while talking with voters throughout the country.  Carrying on with the momentum of the book, the couple is now reaching out to even more Americans by providing people an opportunity to share how they’ve helped the environment over the years.

Here’s where you come in: We’d love to hear from you. Please take a moment and send us your stories about people you know — even yourself — who have found ways to make the world a greener place. They don’t have to be famous and they don’t even have to consider themselves environmentalists. They just need to be people with the imagination and courage to envision the world as a better place. We can’t wait to read about their stories and we look forward to hearing from you.

Although I don’t think Kerry’s book will have even remotely the same success as Gore’s documentary, I am pleased to see that the issue of protecting our environment has once again become something people care about. Hopefully all this talk about global warming and the environment will eventually lead to some actual legislation being put forward.

One Response

  1. As much as I like Kerry, this seems to be purely a response to the popularity of Gore.
